Becoming a Paid Member comes with some amazing perks! Read on to learn what you can get as a member of Made New Makerspace!
Makerspace Access
Weekday Members get 40+ hour weekly access to the space, from 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday, as well as anytime the space is open for community build days.
Full Access Members and Family Full Access Members get 24/7/365 access to the makerspace through our key card system. Make whenever the mood strikes!
On-site Storage
Upon joining the makerspace, members will be given a choice of either a “banker’s box” or a personal locker to use for storing their personal projects. (Locker space is limited and based on availability.)
Free “Crash Course” Trainings
Members of the makerspace can schedule complimentary trainings on our equipment to learn how to use it properly. These trainings cover all the basic operation of the equipment, and will come with “cheat sheets” to help you when you’re on your own. These trainings are always small groups or even one-on-one! Currently, free training is available for the following equipment:
- Welding*
- Plasma torch*
- 3D Printers
- Laser Engraver

*Members are required to take our course before using this equipment
Loaner Laptop
Members can request to borrow a laptop from the makerspace. These loaner laptops are Windows-based machines and are typically equipped with an Intel i5 or better processor and at least 4GB of RAM. They can be checked out for up to a week per reservation, and reservations can be renewed for extended use. Students with a valid Student ID can reserve a laptop for the length of their current term.
Hand Tool Library
With a reservation in advance, members can borrow hand tools from the Makerspace for at-home projects. These short-term loans are meant to help families complete small projects around their home by connecting them with basic hand tools.
On-Site Consumables
Sometimes sourcing your own materials for a project can be hard. Or worse still, you have to buy a whole lot of something when you only need a little bit. To make this easier for you, we stock a number of consumables on-site, that you can use as you’d like and pay only for what you use via a convenient QR code near the workstation. Some of the consumables we keep on hand are:

- Electronics boards (Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, etc…)
- Electronics components
