Donate Laptops

One Donated Laptop.
Endless Opportunity.

At Made New Makerspace, we believe in the transformative power of technology. With our Laptops for Learners program, your organization’s old laptops can become a gateway to endless opportunities for children in low-income or foster care settings.

How the Program Works:

Laptops donated to Made New Makerspace go through a four-step process on their journey to empowering youth in Omaha:

STEP 1) Donation. Businesses or individuals bring their old laptops to us, either at our facility or at our community partner, Ken’s PC Repair.

STEP 2) Reimaging. Ken’s PC Repair ensures that hard drives on all machines are completely erased. After this, he re-installs a fresh copy of the operating system, along with select software to help youth in their academics.

STEP 3) Refurbishment. Laptops come back to our facility, where they are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damage. If needed, laptops will have batteries, keyboards, chargers, or other components replaced.

STEP 4) Distribution. Laptops are given to youth in the community from low-income or foster care settings. If for any reason a laptop cannot be given to a youth, it will be sold, and the proceeds will be used to purchase components (chargers, keyboards, etc.) for computers going directly to youth.

Why Donate your Machines?

There are a million reasons why your business should donate its old laptops to Made New Makerspace. Here are just a few:

Creating Digital Equity: Your donated laptops provide access to technology for those who might not otherwise have it, narrowing the gap between the digitally privileged and underserved communities.

Supporting Learning: Your old laptops become powerful educational tools, facilitating access to online resources, interactive learning platforms, and educational software.

Environmental Responsibility: Donating laptops promotes sustainability by extending the lifespan of electronic devices, reducing electronic waste, and minimizing environmental impact.

Corporate Social Responsibility: Demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility enhances your company’s reputation and strengthens its connection to the community.

Tax Benefits: Made New Makerspace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Businesses may be eligible for tax deductions when donating equipment, providing a financial incentive for supporting charitable causes.

Community Development: Supporting initiatives like Laptops for Learners plays a role in community development, helping to create a more inclusive and prosperous society.
